History

In 1998 Didier Bertrand, dietician of formation and a fan of cooking, launches out with Adolphe Besnard, designer and decorator, in the adventure of Les Cakes de Bertrand. It is at the food market of Port-Royal in Paris that Didier Bertrand solds successfully his homemade cakes. A year later, in the heart of the 9th arrondissement of Paris a shop is opened. On the racks, flourished with their scintillating spangles boxes of violet candies and bars of chocolate all decorated with pictures finely picked from the old postcard album of Adolphe's grandmother. In 2001, with the opening of the tea salon on the 7th of Bourdaloue street of Paris, Les Cakes de Bertrand grew bigger. The menu offers savory salty and sweet cakes. On the racks the kitsch chocolate bar slipped into a case, the case slipped into a shopping bag together with a coin purse sweetly decorated. What to conquer the heart of the most elegant one. Nowadays one find displayed a wide selection of kitsch items, tea boxes, chocolate bars, caramels, nougats de Montélimard, candy boxes, shopping bags, handbags, coin purses, candles, post cards, notebooks. Since delicacies and accessories are diffused from Tokyo to Toronto, and from London to Moscow. In spring, Les Cakes de Bertrand moves to the garden of the museum of the Romantic Life (le musée de la vie romantique)until the end of summer.
